CELL was created in collaboration between Little Cauliflower and Smoking Apples. Dogfish Theatre have now replaced Little Cauiflower as the 2nd producing partner:

Smoking Apples use both puppets and live actors together on stage with an identifiable and unique style of movement. Their narratives are often nonlinear, interweaving stories and characters together in an intricate web.

CELL is their fourth original production with their most recent show The Wordcatcher (2012) having played at various locations throughout the UK, including the Brighton Fringe Festival and the highly acclaimed, Suspense London Festival of Puppetry 2013. It has also received a string of four star reviews and Smoking Apples have been described in the press as an “impressive ensemble” and as a “company to watch”.

Little Cauliflower were founded in 2010. They produce touching and heartfelt productions and often use large elements of kinetic set design in their shows. In 2011, their first show Street Dreams was described by Total Theatre as a “remarkable production”.

In addition, they also produced an original piece of street theatre after winning funding from Canterbury City Council called The Machine. It went on to receive further funding and touring from Applause Outdoors Rural Touring. In 2012, they were awarded funds by Arts Council England to research and develop The Night of the Big Wind which did a full run at Underbelly, Edinburgh.
